Derma Roller - Micro Needle Therapy

Institut de beauté always endeavors to bring the most effective products and treatments to its clients and we're delighted to introduce the Contour Roller micro-needling technology.

Micro-needle therapy is a natural skin rejuvenation treatment that brings about the body's own production of collagen and elastin regenerating the skin to address the following concerns or skin complaints:-

  • Ageing skin
  • Sun and environmentally damaged skin
  • Fine line & wrinkles
  • Acne, surgery and other skin scarring
  • Stretchmarks
  • Open pores and skin pigmentation

The Treatment

The roller is passed across the skin causing small micro punctures in the skins surface that stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely, creating smoother, brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin.

By creating 1000's of miniscule channels in the layers of the skin (which kick-starts the body's own production of collagen and elastin), we also have a window of opportunity to introduce serums and products into these channels, thus being absorbed deep within the skin layers increasing their effectiveness

FAQs

What areas can be treated?

The Contour Roller can be used on many parts of the body; the most common being the face, neck, décolleté, abdominal area and hands.

Tell me about the actual treatment?

Following the Consultation, we will prepare the area for treatment using a saline solution. With the Medical Roller a numbing cream* will also be applied. You may well experience some, but minimal discomfort. The methodology of the treatment will be explained both before and during the treatment.

A patch test for the numbing cream is required at least 24 hours prior to treatment.

How long does the treatment take?

The complete treatment including consultation and preparation usually takes about an hour and a quarter to an hour and three quarters (depending if numbing cream is used).

How will I look after my treatment?

The skin will look sunburnt, although this fades quite quickly (see the healing process). Tiny areas of pinpoint bleeding may also be apparent with the Medical Roller treatment.

Tell me more about the healing process and home-care?

The visible healing process will occur over several days, the stages being:-

  • The micro channels created will close within an hour
  • The inflammatory reaction of the skin with begin to fade quit significantly within hours and the remaining redness should have fully settled during the following day
  • We will apply a barrier repair cream to assist with the healing process (Chiroxy)
  • It is necessary to use Chiroxy cream for a handful of days after the treatment
  • Skin must be cleansed gently for 48hrs until columns close
  • We also recommend that Heliocare SPF 50 cream be used for a few weeks
  • A mineral makeup can also assist with the healing process
  • All aftercare products can be purchases through Institut de beaute, but may be included in some courses
  • Healing time – Cosmetic Roller; up to 1 week. Medical Roller; the healing and rejuvenation continues for up to 6 weeks
  • A course of 3 treatments a 6 weekly intervals are usually required

Are there any post treatment do's and don't's?

  • Do use the recommended post treatment products as this protects the skin and aids the healing process by providing optimum conditions for the skin repair
  • Don't use particular products for 2-3 days afterwards, ie. ones with AHA's (Glycolic Acid), Retinol or ones with 'active' ingredients

How many treatments will I need?

We recommend a course of three treatments approximately 6-8 weeks apart to achieve the best results.

How long before I see any results?

The effects of the treatment should be noticeable straight away, however the regeneration and repair will continue over the proceeding 6-8 weeks and would continue with a course of treatment set 6-8 weeks apart. The course will continue the skins regeneration, providing a natural and long lasting enhancement.

Some conditions, such as acne scarring may require more treatments.

How long will the result last for?

The results from a Contour Roller treatment are permanent; in that the process of the skin repairing itself will have been induced / taken place. The degree will however vary on both the individual and the condition being treated. Ageing will however see new lines form over time.

Risks of post-op infections?

Since the tiny pricking channels close within one hour, and provided the procedure is done under clinical conditions, post-op infections are very unlikely.
