Natural, Vibrant & Clearer Skin

Dermalux® light therapy is a clinically proven non-invasive skin treatment using highly advanced LEDs to deliver outstanding results. Phototherapy exposes your skin to specific wavelengths of light, which encourages and accelerates the body’s own natural repair processes to improve a poor complexion, signs of ageing (including lines and wrinkles on the face, hands or body) sunburn skin damage, pigmentation and overall skin health.

The results that can be achieved from the unique combination of light wavelengths can be truly amazing – Dermalux® has the ability to deliver its 3 lightwave frequencies individually or simultaneously in any selected combination, maximising results and reducing treatment times.

Dermalux is safe, convenient, painless and even relaxing, with the added benefit of no downtime after the treatment. It harnesses the power of 3 specifically chosen light waves (red, near infrared and blue light treatment) that are absorbed by the skin to treat a variety of common skin conditions, such as Acne, Rosacea, Psoriasis, Eczema and Dermatitis.

As a result of ageing, skin disorders or trauma, healthy skin cells are compromised and unable to renew themselves normally. The skin has the ability to absorb certain wavelengths of light (colours) and use them as a source of energy to activate specific cellular functions to produce a therapeutic effect. Light Therapy can reproduce these individual wavelengths (nanometres) to recharge the cells, energising them to heal quicker and rejuvenate faster.

Successful treatment with LED Phototherapy is determined by delivering clinically proven wavelengths that allow for specific cellular reactions to take place. Dermalux Light treatment uses only these wavelengths delivered at measured energy output, intensity and dose that allows for optimal photobiomodulation of target cells and skin tissue.

Rejuvenate & Restore your Skin

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) systems are a clinically proven, safe and effective treatment for smoothing out the tone and texture of your skin and can be used to help treat a range of skin conditions.

This non invasive skin treatment uses advanced technology that works by emitting a high energy light similar to a laser. However, unlike conventional lasers, IPL technology allows you to treat the full face, resulting in a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.

IPL treatments can be used for the following conditions:-

  • Ageing
  • Pigmentation
  • Redness | Rosacea
  • Red Veins | Broken Capillaries
  • Improve the signs of Sun Damage

Skin Rejuvenation

  • Improves skin texture by promoting collagen production, leaving skin brighter and younger.
  • Pores are minimised and refined.
  • Reduces redness.
  • Up to 6 treatments are recommended.

Thread Vein Treatment

  • Treatment is performed quickly and safely.
  • Immediate visible results.
  • Helps remove or decrease the size of thread veins.
  • 3-4 treatments are necessary, depending on the size or severity of the vein.

Pigmentation Treatment

  • Removes or lightens sun damage and freckles.
  • Evens skin tone by removing age spots.
  • Can be used on any part of the body (face, neck and hands are most common).
  • Usually 3-4 treatments needed

Q. Which type of client can be treated?

A. The best results are seen with clients of skin types 1-3 and skin type 4 can be treated with care. It is important that the client avoids sun exposure 30-60 days prior to treatment. Sun exposure can increase the risk of pains or burns from excessive light absorption in the epidermis. If the client has a sun tan it may be better to wait until the colour reduces to achieve the best results. The Ellipse has pre programmed treatment suggestions for different skin types

Q. Does it hurt?

A. The sensation will vary from client to client but it is the second strongest of all the treatments. The sensation that is felt depends upon the amount of melanin found in the skin. The sensation is described as a heat sensation and a few clients compare it to mild sunburn after the treatment

Q. Do I need to take special precautions before and after treatment?

A. It is important to avoid tanning (sun, sunbed, fake tan) before and during the treatment period. If not, your skin will absorb more light, which makes the treatment less effective. Generally no post-treatment care is necessary, but patients with sensitive skin may benefit from applying soothing aloe vera gel. Furthermore, it is recommended to use a SPF 30+ daily

PLEASE NOTE : a patch/sensitivity test and a full Ellipse IPL consultation will be required prior to any treatment.  Consultations are FREE of charge.

Micro Needle Therapy

Micro-needle therapy is a natural skin rejuvenation treatment that brings about the body’s own production of collagen and elastin regenerating the skin to address the following concerns or skin complaints:-

  • Ageing skin
  • Sun and environmentally damaged skin
  • Fine line & wrinkles
  • Acne, surgery and other skin scarring
  • Stretchmarks
  • Open pores and skin pigmentation

The Results: Regenerated skin to hide the signs of ageing and reduce scars. Your skin will look more radiated and refreshed.

The Cosmetic Roller is used for facial skin regeneration. It helps to reduce find lines and sun damage, delivering a fantastic anti-aging treatment.

CO2 Gel Mask Therapy can also be used in conjunction with the Cosmetic Roller for instant visual improvements to the skin plus benefits to overall skin health.

The Medical Roller works in the deeper layers of the skin and delivers collagen induction therapy. This is suitable for deeper scars, pitted skin, open pores, burns, surgery scars, acne scars and softening of deep wrinkles. It’s also suitable for improving the appearance of cellulite, stretch-mark fading, skin pigmentation problems and skin regeneration.

The Treatment

The roller is passed across the skin causing small micro punctures in the skins surface that stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely, creating smoother, brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin.

By creating 1000’s of miniscule channels in the layers of the skin (which kick-starts the body’s own production of collagen and elastin), we also have a window of opportunity to introduce serums and products into these channels, thus being absorbed deep within the skin layers increasing their effectiveness

The Nouveau Contour Roller is a Sterile CE stamped devices. Staff are fully trained and insured for this procedure – we use all the correct procedures, including pre and post treatment creams as well as numbing cream for the 1.5mm roller.

Q. What areas can be treated?

A. The Contour Roller can be used on many parts of the body; the most common being the face, neck, décolleté, abdominal area and hands.

Q. Tell me about the actual treatment?

A. Following the Consultation, we will prepare the area for treatment using a saline solution. With the Medical Roller a numbing cream* will also be applied. You may well experience some, but minimal discomfort. The methodology of the treatment will be explained both before and during the treatment.

A patch test for the numbing cream is required at least 24 hours prior to treatment.

Q. How long does the treatment taket?

A. The complete treatment including consultation and preparation usually takes about an hour and a quarter to an hour and three quarters (depending if numbing cream is used).

Q. How will I look after my treatment?

A. The skin will look sunburnt, although this fades quite quickly (see the healing process). Tiny areas of pinpoint bleeding may also be apparent with the Medical Roller treatment.

Q. Tell me more about the healing process and home-care?

A. The visible healing process will occur over several days, the stages being:-

  • The micro channels created will close within an hour
  • The inflammatory reaction of the skin with begin to fade quit significantly within hours and the remaining redness should have fully settled during the following day
  • We will apply a barrier repair cream to assist with the healing process (Chiroxy)
  • It is necessary to use Chiroxy cream for a handful of days after the treatment
  • Skin must be cleansed gently for 48hrs until columns close
  • We also recommend that Heliocare SPF 50 cream be used for a few weeks
  • A mineral makeup can also assist with the healing process
  • All aftercare products can be purchases through Institut de beaute, but may be included in some courses
  • Healing time – Cosmetic Roller; up to 1 week. Medical Roller; the healing and rejuvenation continues for up to 6 weeks
  • A course of 3 treatments a 6 weekly intervals are usually required

Q. Are there any post treatment do’s and dont’s?

A. Do use the recommended post treatment products as this protects the skin and aids the healing process by providing optimum conditions for the skin repair

  • Don’t use particular products for 2-3 days afterwards, ie. ones with AHA’s (Glycolic Acid), Retinol or ones with ‘active’ ingredients

Q. How many treatments will I need?

A. We recommend a course of three treatments approximately 6-8 weeks apart to achieve the best results.

Q. How long will the results last for?

A. The results from a Contour Roller treatment are permanent; in that the process of the skin repairing itself will have been induced / taken place. The degree will however vary on both the individual and the condition being treated. Ageing will however see new lines form over time.

Q. Are there any risks of post treatment infections?

A. Since the tiny pricking channels close within one hour, and provided the procedure is done under clinical conditions, post-op infections are very unlikely.
